Respect your parents and teachers. Our grandfather has become old now.
ဖိုးဖိုးကို ဇိခိုးပါ။ ပသိပီးပါ အိုဖိုးဖို။

Pay homage to grandfather. Please guide and teach us, dear grandfather.

The Suckling Baby
နို့စို့အချေ နိုးလာယာ။ မငိုပါကေ့ နို့စို့ပါ။
[no̰ zo̰ ət͡ʃʰè nós là jà။ mə ŋò pà gḛ no̰ zo̰ pà။]
The breastfed infant has woken up. Don't cry, come nurse and drink milk.
အမိကိုခေါ်ယူပါ။ လန့်ကေ ယို့လို့ထားပါ။
[əmḭ kò kʰɔ̀ jù pà။ la̰ kḛ jò lo̰ tʰás pà။]
Please call mother over. If the baby is startled, soothe and comfort gently.
ကိုယ်ကျင့်တရား
ခိုးမယူရ။ ရိုးရိုးသားသား နီပါ။
[kʰós mə jù jə။ jós-jós θás-θás nì pà။]
Never steal things. Live a life filled with pure honesty.
လူဆိုးနန့် မနီရ။ ရိုးသားသူနန့် နီပါ။
[lù sós na̰ mənì jə။ jós θás θù na̰ nì pà။]
Do not associate with bad people. Associate and live only with those who are righteous.
